WLGA New Member – LPG Equipment Research Centre (LERC)

          

 

The WLGA welcomes LPG Equipment Research Centre (LERC) as a new member.

LPG Equipment Research Centre (LERC) is based in Bangalore, India, and stands as a unique institution in the LPG sector. Established in 1990 as a joint venture of India's three major Oil Marketing Companies — Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL). LERC serves as the central technical authority for LPG equipment research and standards in India.

Their core activities include rigorous testing, certification, and quality assurance of LPG equipment and accessories used across the OMC network, as well as applied Research & Development aimed at improving the safety, efficiency, and reliability of LPG infrastructure. LERC plays a pivotal role in ensuring that equipment deployed across India's vast LPG distribution network meets the highest technical and safety standards, supporting millions of consumers nationwide. LERC is the acknowledged authority in India on various equipment like cylinders DPRs Valves Stoves hoses burners vaporisers and seals and various polymers/metals associated with them. LERC is also member of all the relevant national standard formulation committees in India.
