Polish brewery commits to renewable Liquid Gas adoption

Polish craft beer producer Pinta Brewery is using renewable Liquid Gas, provided by local gas supplier Gaspol, in the technological processes at its factory in Wieprz. This facility, opened in 2019, currently brews over 35,000 hectolitres of beer annually.

The LPG is used to generate steam, which is needed for the entire beer brewing process, to boil the wort, heat the water and keep the entire brewery clean. The gas installation at the brewery consists of two underground tanks, each with a capacity of 6,700 litres, and an evaporator. This solution ensures safety, reliability, and high energy efficiency, according to Gaspol.

"We are a modern brewery, but we use traditional brewing methods. The quality and flavour of our beers always come from the best possible raw materials and natural fermentation processes," said Grzegorz Zwierzyna, co-founder and co-owner of Pinta Brewery. "One of the modern and environmentally friendly solutions at our fingertips is using bio-LPG from Gaspol."

"Bio-LPG is a solution that truly supports the food industry in its energy transition, leading the industry towards emission reduction. It has a carbon footprint up to 90% lower than traditional LPG, thanks to a production process based on renewable raw materials," commented Donatella Squellerio, Sales and Marketing Director at Gaspol. "Furthermore, it can be blended with conventional LPG, allowing customers to flexibly incorporate renewable fuel into their energy mix, in line with their growth rate and business strategy."

Gaspol, the Polish unit of Dutch-based liquid gas distributor SHV, delivered in September 2024 its first lot of bio-LPG at the port of Gdansk, introducing the sustainable fuel to the country for the first time.
