Koa Gas Nihon – A Leap Forward on the 70th Anniversary
Koa Gas Nihon Strives for Improved Service
WLGA warmly wishes our friend Uezono-san, and his company, a happy 70th birthday and anniversary, and all the very best for the future.
WLGA member Koa Gas Nihon, headquartered in Kagoshima City, Japan, held the Koa Gas Group New Year’s Greeting Party on 30th January at the Kagoshima Sun Royal Hotel in Kagoshima City. About 150 people, including major business partners, equipment manufacturers, and collaborative companies all gathered for an important celebration for the company.
CEO Mr Mayumi Uezono reflected on the previous year, saying, “Every time there was damage from heavy rainfall or typhoons, we worked with the resolve that ‘LPG is the last fort of survival.’ We were able to hold gas exhibitions in various locations, and the showroom in Usuki in particular was fully open for the first time in six years, where many visitors were able to enjoy lively service from our employees. I truly felt again that we are sustained by the support of the local community. I would like to express my gratitude for the warm support.”
Touching on the international situation, Uezono-san added, “The importance of gas will continue. At the WLGA's international conference, the message was given that ‘the 20th century was the era of oil, but the 21st century is the era of gas.’ This message was strongly repeated last year, asserting that ‘LPG is sustainable and extremely important, regardless of various environmental changes, and is a driving force for the world’s energy.’ I am convinced that no other energy source is more powerful than gas, especially as the energy issues in Japan and around the world become more complex with interests, war, technology, and investment. We will expand our business in line with these strong messages.”
He continued, “We already have partnership with major gas company in the Kanto region in areas such as electricity, and since last year, we have formed alliance with other gas company to improve our services to customers. Our company will celebrate its 70th anniversary in June. I will also turn 70 years old this year. With the advancement of medical science, people are expected to live up to 120 years. At next year’s meeting, I would like to talk about strategies for the next 50 years, supporting for nearly 90,000 households including both gas and electricity customers. Please look forward to it.”
