James Rockall, CEO and Managing Director, Visits Mongolia
August 2025 - James Rockall, CEO and Managing Director of the World Liquid Gas Association (WLGA) visited Mongolia in August this year at the invitation of Dashvaanjil Group LLC, the WLGA’s only member in Mongolia.
During his visit, Mr. James Rockall met with Mr. N. Baatarjav, a director of Dashvaanjil Group LLC, which is the only WLGA member in Mongolia This visit included pivotal discussions on addressing Mongolia’s significant air quality issues through the promotion of liquefied gas as a cleaner alternative fuel. This strategic partnership will focus on leveraging environmentally friendly LPG technologies to mitigate pollution and enhance energy transition efforts in Mongolia. Along with issues such as air pollution Mongolia also has related social challenges where adoption of LPG can act as a solution. WLGA and Cashvaanjil agreed to expand their cooperation and signed a memorandum of understanding to work together. Their goal is bring sustainable fuel solutions to Mongolian homes and we will follow this project closely.
The WLGA implements major projects in developing countries in cooperation with international organizations. One example is the “Cooking For Life” campaign, which was carried out with the support of the World Bank. The programme was successfully implemented in 11 developing countries, enabling around 900 million people who previously relied on wood and coal to switch to environmentally friendly and energy-efficient gas fuel. This serves as the most optimal solution for eliminating air and environmental pollution in those regions. Using liquefied gas fuel has proven to be a remarkable and effective energy source that improves people’s quality of life and standards of living in many ways.
