Bergé trials adoption of renewable Liquid Gas in terminal tractors

Spanish Logistics company Bergé has collaborated with Revenant, a company specialising in sustainable remanufacturing, to convert a Terberg RT222 4×4 industrial tow tractor, exploring the advantages of LPG in its fleet of vehicles. Specifically, all components have been remanufactured and retrofitted, replacing the original diesel engine with a unit powered by renewable Liquid Gas.

The conversion process included the complete remanufacturing of the equipment, with a technical intervention divided into 11 major phases, from initial disassembly to pre-delivery quality controls.

According to Bergé, the objective is to analyse the performance and operational behaviour of the new propulsion system under real-life working conditions, as well as the environmental and economic benefits it can provide.

Moreover, this transition to LPG and bioLPG will allow the company to continue its asset renewal and modernisation plan as part of an ambitious investment program for the coming years, aiming to achieve more sustainable and efficient operations.

This strategy includes progressive investments aimed at reducing the environmental impact of logistics operations, improving the energy efficiency of its equipment, and adapting to regulatory requirements regarding emissions.
