Autogas Powered Racing Cars in the News!

WLGA friend and former Formula 1 Racing driver Fulvio Maria Ballabio clearly has a passion for cars, and in particular he is a strong supporter of LPG Autogas racing cars.

From 8th May, the MCM CC 133 V8 Alfa Romeo LPG car, dedicated to Engineer Carlo Chiti, is on display at the Mille Miglia Museum in Brescia through to the historic re-enactment in early June and the concurrent car auction. Presented to the press on 14 May alongside drivers Emerson Fittipaldi and Bruno Giacomelli, the car reflects both heritage and innovation, with links to key moments in the drivers’ shared racing history. A cocktail reception will also mark the final victory of the Ferrari 250 GT Testarossa at the 1957 Mille Miglia under Chiti’s guidance. Developed by Monte Carlo Motorsport in SOCOGAS colours, the MCM Carlo Chiti 133 Alfa Romeo V8 is a mono-fuel LPG “Eco Racing” GT car, built entirely in carbon fibre, continuing a legacy that dates back to the groundbreaking Centenaire of 1988.

Created to mark the 100th anniversary of Chiti’s birth, the car has evolved from a road-legal concept to a racing model aligned with Europe’s 2035 alternative fuel ambitions. Showcased in Parma and Pistoia, it highlights the growing role of LPG as a viable, lower-emissions solution in high-performance motorsport.

All testament to the power of Autogas!
