Announcing Incoming WLGA Goal Chairs
The World Liquid Gas Association (WLGA) operates to a three-year strategic plan that drives its activities and delivers maximum value to its members worldwide. The current Strategic Review covers 2026-2028 under the theme ‘Resilience in a Changing World’.
Fulfilling the WLGA Mission
The WLGA mission statement forms the four principal goals of the WLGA: Advocacy (ADV); Safety and Business Improvement (SBI); Sustainable Growth & Innovation (SGI); and Communications & Awareness (COM).
The WLGA is delighted to welcome four new Goal Chairs to lead and support each of our four strategic goals. The Goal Chairs take their seats from 1st January 2026.
ADVOCACY (ADV): Mr Melih Poyraz, Chief Executive Officer, Aygaz
Incoming ADV Goal Chair is Mr. Poyraz, Aygaz CEO, who brings with him extensive executive experience and a deep understanding of the LPG sector. He has expressed strong enthusiasm for advancing the global promotion of LPG and Liquid Gas across all market segments and geographies.
“In a time of global uncertainty and rapid policy change, the power of clear, confident, and consistent communication has never been more vital. As the incoming Chair of the WLGA Advocacy Goal I look forward to championing the role of Liquid Gas as a low-carbon, clean-burning, and accessible energy solution. As the world accelerates toward a sustainable and inclusive energy future, WLGA stands firm in its commitment to ensuring that Liquid Gas is recognised as an essential, reliable, and resilient fuel, empowering communities, driving innovation, and advancing the global energy transition.”
SAFETY AND BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT (SBI): Dr Rachid Majjad, Chief Executive Officer National Gas Company SAOG
Incoming SBI Goal Chair is Dr Majjad CEO of National Gas Company in Oman who is a champion of safety having come from an industrial gas background.
“Over the next three years, our focus will be on strengthening safety, enhancing collaboration, and driving continuous improvement across the global Liquid Gas industry. We will reinforce our safety culture to ensure that every stage of our value chain operates with the highest standards of responsibility. Capacity-building will be expanded through targeted training and technical exchanges supported by our national chapters and global network.
We will empower young and diverse talent through the Youth Council and WINLPG and strengthen our competitions and awards to inspire innovation. Above all, collaboration will remain our guiding principle.”
SUSTAINABLE GROWTH & INNOVATION (SGI): Mr Warren Patterson, VP NA Heating & Cooking Worthington Enterprises
Incoming SGI Goal Chair is Mr Patterson who brings an immense amount of experience to his new SGI role, and this comes not only from his current position in Worthington Enterprises, but also from other senior positions he held in the past with UGI AmeriGas and DCC Energy. Warren had also previously served as SGI chair and he has spent significant time in operations and commercial roles on innovation and business development, whether it be growing Autogas by tens of millions of gallons, combined heat and power, or Renewable Liquid Gas investments, working with stakeholders and coalitions from many different member companies, OEMs, policy makers at the local, state, US, and European level, and news media.

Ms Donaldson is Director of Marketing at Petredec and based in South Africa. Tamsin has a strong communications background, and has previously worked with WLGA as a communications consultant so has a head start in already knowing the WLGA and in particular the communications strategy.
Congratulations to the newly appointed WLGA Goal Chairs as they take on this important mission. The WLGA team wishes them every success in driving the goals forward. Our sincere thanks also go to Ms Esther Busscher (SHV Energy), Mr Blaise Edja (Oryx Energies), Mr Fabian Ziegler (formerly DCC Energy), and Mr Cristián Aguirre Grez (Gasco Chile) for their outstanding leadership and valued contribution as outgoing WLGA Goal Chairs.
