James Ferrell Elected Into U.S. Propane Hall of Fame

Mr James E. Ferrell, Chairman of U.S.-based Ferrellgas Partners, L.P., has been elected into the first-ever class of the Propane Hall of Fame.

Mr Ferrell served the World LP Gas Association as President for two terms, and was first elected on October 22, 1998 at the World LP Gas Forum in Rome, Italy.
The Propane Hall of Fame was developed by LP Gas magazine in conjunction with the year-long celebration of the propane industry's 100th anniversary in 2012. Ferrell was inducted with a class of eight others at a ceremony that was held on April 13 in Atlanta. A total of 44 nominees were considered.
Joining Ferrell in the inaugural Propane Hall of Fame class are Mark Anton (Suburban Propane), John Blossman (Blossman Gas), Sam McTier (McTier Supply Co.), Robert Myers (Petrolane Inc.), Walter Snelling (American Gasol Co.), Milford Therrell (Squibb-Taylor Inc.), H. Emerson Thomas (Continental Tank Car Co.), and John Wallace (Petrolane Inc.).

"Jim Ferrell is simply one of the most recognized and most respected names in the 100-year history of the retail propane industry," says Ferrellgas President and Chief Executive Officer Steve Wambold. "It's a fitting tribute to someone who has accomplished so much during his 46 years in the industry."
Originally aspiring to a career in the military, Ferrell served in the U.S. Army from the time of his graduation from the University of Kansas in 1963 until 1965, when he left the Army to take over his father's struggling propane business in Atchison, Kansas. The company is now the nation's second-largest propane retailer and, under the trade name Blue Rhino, the nation's largest provider of propane by portable tank exchange.
Ferrellgas Partners, L.P. is a Fortune 1000 company and, through its operating partnership, Ferrellgas, L.P., serves approximately one million customers in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico. Ferrellgas employees indirectly own more than 20 million common units of the partnership through an employee stock ownership plan.
